Geo-ICT Health (Pty) Ltd is a joint venture encompassing ICT Works (Pty) Ltd and Geomed MIT. ICT Works (Pty) Limited, is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) company incorporated in South Africa in February 2000, providing ICT services, solutions and products. The company is 100% black women owned, and represents women excellence in the ICT sector. It is founded and controlled by women engineers and IT professionals. www.ict-works.co.za

Geomed MIT is based Stellenbosch in the Western Cape and focuses on the development & supply of medical related technology and information systems for the public and private health care industry. www.geomed.co.za

Geo-ICT Health has offices in Stellenbosch, where the engineering and programming team is housed, and in Johannesburg where the operational and sales team is situated.

The objective of Geo-ICT Health is to supply and implement the e-MuM solution to provincial health departments within South Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries. The holistic GIH offering includes project management for the rollout of its health solutions, as well as full training to medical staff for the optimal use of the company’s technologies. It is the intention of GIH to also provide data collected from pilot studies to the National Health department.

GIH has arrived at practical solutions for the challenges that spread and worsen Tuberculosis. These challenges are listed within the DOTS Framework published by the World Health Organization in 2001. The e-MuM solution is however also applicable to any chronic disease requiring that patients take medication on a continuous basis .

Margaret Sibiya - Director

Margaret is an Operations Director at ICT Works, holds National Diploma (IT), BTech degree (IT), Business Management Diploma as well as Project Management Diploma. She is currently studying towards her MBA. Margaret was with IBM SA for eight years where she started as programmer (student intern) and became a Technical Specialist giving technical support to the users in Legacy System and Decision Support Tools. She also gave lectures at IBM education centre on the same products. In 1997-1998 she was involved in new business implementation, where she concentrated on business controls and Business Process Re-engineering for IBM's new outsourcing customers. She then worked as a Project Manager at the Gauteng Department of Health, implementing a Health Information System in six major hospitals and clinic with the Rihanyo consortium. The project was awarded the IT Project Master Award by the Computer Society of SA in 2002. She moved to Standard Bank in 2002, where she held a Senior Manager/Portfolio Manager position, where she was head of Wholesale Banking Portfolio, supporting the Africa division in the implementation of various projects in the trade, corporate treasury portfolios.

Maretha Britz - Director

Maretha has more than 20 years experience in the implementation, project management, promotion, demonstration and technical aspects of the Oracle ERP and Technology solutions. She is one of the few local consultants with and in-depth product knowledge of all the Oracle JD Edwards modules and is recognized as such both locally and internationally.
Maretha has for several years developed her skills in the areas of winning business, business and people management and product knowledge of all of the product areas under her influence and is widely respected for her abilities by clients, staff & peers.

Jacques de Vos - Managing Director

With his vision to impact developing countries through the use of medical technology, Jacques leads the team with diligence and commitment. After acquiring his B.Eng. and M.Sc.Eng. degrees from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, in 2002 and 2004 respectively, great opportunities arised for his vision to become a reality in the context of the developing world. Jacque’s interest in decision support systems and digital signal processing inspires his work as a developer at the company where he focuses particularly on the medical environment.

John Vorster - Director

John worked in South Korea for a year after graduating from Stellenbosch University’s Law School in 2001. Staying in the Northern Hemisphere, but moving West, he was employed at BCL Burton Copeland Solicitors in London between 2003 and 2005. BCL is recognized as the top ranked serious economic crime law firm in the United Kingdom. In 2005, John returned to South Africa as an investment advisor within the PSG Consult network. In July 2006, he was appointed the Chief Operating Officer of PSG Online, the stock broking platform within the PSG Group. With his strong financial background, John is a vital link in the business strength of Geo-ICT Health.
